Tips For Finance Your Start-ups

Write your own business plan. Get help if you need it. Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) were created to help you with business planning and financing. Go to www.smallbiz.suny.edu for a listing of SBDCs on the Net. Then get outsiders to critique the plan before presenting it to outside investors.

Be aware that almost nobody wants to finance start-ups. Good start-up financing sources begin with your own assets and those of family and friends. If your idea is good, then you should have no qualms about giving your family and friends a chance to invest in your business. If you are queasy about asking, it's a tip that perhaps your idea isn't that good.

Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that?
We must have perseverance and, above all,
confidence in ourselves.
We must believe that we are gifted for something,
and this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.
